I’m feeling very patriotic today. I always get a lump in my throat when assisting in singing the Start Spangled Banner – or just listening as someone, with much better control of their vocal chords, sings our National Anthem. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I can sing. I used to sing in the Wesley Singers All-Girls Choir at The First United Methodist Church in my hometown. We were good. Really good. Together. Collectively. As a group. I don’t ever remember singing a solo, however. I digress. Gosh, I can even “tear up” when watching fireworks on the 4th of July and hearing patriotic music playing. I love it when the fireworks shows are synchronized with music. Isn’t that just the best?!?! Well, I felt the same lump in my throat when I saw this today. I felt I must share. There is NOTHING like seeing this for yourself. With your own eyes. In person. Up close and personal. We’ve been touring America for many years now – as a concerted effort, not just to go to Disney World to ride the Tea Cups (which is GREAT, BTW), but to really see America. But this, this was truly breath-taking! Mt. Rushmore on July 4th! And then there is this . . . I think I’m going to break out and just start singing the Star Spangled Banner. Have a safe, wonderful, happy and patriotic 4th! Don’t forget your flag! Color me Red, White and Blue, Suz
